When sleeping women wake

Bare-face

Full-face

Empty space,

How does a real woman look?

I took to the mirror to work it out.

Lipstick pout?

Or pale pink mouth?

Which type of woman should I be?

Modest like her?

Tall like her?

Busty like her?

Curvy like her?

She’s different,

I’m different,

That woman is different,

Separate from me.

They tell us we can’t look like her,

Act like her,

Behave like her,

What are they trying to deter.

But when we wake up

We won’t fight for make-up

We won’t justify being fat or thin.

Because we will know that they’re trying to distract us,

From the power that lies within
